Chanced upon this advertisement and thought it was so cute (and funny).

It’s like mocking not only the competitors but the people who bought the competitor’s products as well.:) So please… if you don’t wanna celebrate Father’s Day, use DUREX.

My ever first Caesar

Lately people keep telling me how much of weight i had put on. Not forgetting the fact that my pants are getting rather tight fitting. Told myself that from henceforth i would eat more salads and less starch. Darling was at school so i decided to make a salad (in case something goes wrong i could just throw it away and not feel guilty about making him wait and become ever more hungry by the minute. Believe me i thought it was yummy. For a person who simply hates her greens this was awesome. Yeah i do admit…. i added LOTS of cheese and chicken but of course i had my greens as well.

Henceforth i vow to eat more salads.

Alta Bean Bag

There has been a space in our study that was empty (and colourless) to me. After much thoughts i decided to shop around for a chaise to fill up that space, add some colour and at the same time allow us to pick up a book from our massive bookshelf and settle into it. However, when i shared with this with the hubby, he was not very keen about it. We started talking about the pros and cons and all when he finally thought of a bean bag…. Why not i thought :) ))!

We sourced around at Spotlight and even the beanbag mart but nothing… absolutely nothing spoke to us.

Last night while watching TV and surfing the net, i chance upon this cool site http://www.blob-bean-bags.com/sg/home.html?gclid=CK2IwczEmZ0CFQEupAodUxqY3Q.

Though they are based in New Zealand, they ship the bean bag covers to Singapore! So all you have to do is to purchase beanbag refills and fill it in the beanbag when it arrives. How cool! We explored the site and that was when we saw it.

The Alta Bean Bag.

It looks like a huge over sized pillow but gave up to 7 options of sitting, reclining and straddling. They are made super soft but strong enough to ensure durability and resilience. Their bags are also fade and spill proof making them ideal for outdoor use. You can choose from two beanbag sizes and lots of colours, from a demure chocolate brown to a popsicle fuschia to suit a lounge or a kids room.

Here is what i purchased. Eagerly waiting for its arrival:)

Whhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..................................

My Pride. My Joy. My Kate Spade.

Hmmm….i must be sounding like Rebecca Bloomwood from Sophie Kinsella’s books calling my kate spade my pride and joy.

Got a recent interest in Kate Spade’s bags and accessories. After looking around i found a perfect wallet for myself. And the best thing is I got it in pink. Well  i made over 3oo bucks for it but its gorgeous.

Some things are just meant to be :)

Babies not only burp… they blog

Got in touch with a couple of my newly-turned-mummies friends. When I ask about how their little bundles of joys are, the first thing they send me are links.

Very impressive links i must say. While some boast endless pictures of the babies, some simply talk about the happenings in the lives of these tiny ones. We may wonder what is so interesting about the lives of babies… after all they drink milk and sleep. I thought so too but i was wrong. The particular mummy, V blogs as if it was by the baby Gwyneth herself. Its also amazing how she puts herself into the shoes of the baby and talks about the feelings and the little milestones the baby has crossed. She also shares about the various places she buys interesting things for her babies. Uploaded with beautiful pictures of the baby, i really had a great time reading the post.

As i was reading i also realised how wonderful it was to have a baby. As much as it sounds fun, baby Gwyneth forgot to mention mummy’s sleepless nights… or endless changing of diapers for that matter!

very meaningful…..

Everyone thinks of changing the world

but no one thinks of changing himself…..

Been feeling rather lost since i lost my N95. Lost it in Dec 31st 2009 by the way. Finally i feel as if i have moved on. This makes me realise how much of emotions some of us attach to our materials.

As my contract is over, i will be eligible for a new handset. After surveying the phone market (as well as my pocket) i have decidede to settle for  Nokia 5800. Hope it will be a good friend to me and take over the hole in my heart left by my N95. Goodbye N95… you were a good companion when you were beside me.

The Quest for a place called Home

Both of us had been searching for a place for our own as early as August 2008. When we started off we kept our options wide though we did have an idea of the kind of house that we wanted.

With no savings whatsoever, we ventured out to look for a place. In retrospect, though we knew that we did not have anything to our name, the need to get our own place in order to maintain our sanity propelled us to take up challenges that we would have never dared  to before.

Here is a brief overview of our house hunting.

We started off  in Jurong East.. it was near the swimming pool. Though it was big and windy, there was an issue about the steep cost…plus the fact that there were crack lines on the ceilings and even pillars.

Next one was in Jurong West…. in an “ulu” area. We had to travel pretty far. The agent joked that the house could be like a landed property. please….. The house was dark, decorated with many antiques and other unidentifiable items. The kitchen was a horror. Apparently the roof leaked and seeped into the walls and kitchen cabinets.Price of the house was dirt cheap but the renovation for the house could reach up to about 100K.

The 3rd house was right beside the place we stayed. Thank God we didnt get it. House was in an ok condition though it didnt speak to us.

After this we took a break as we were tired of house hunting.

In March 2009 we began our quest again. This time we went to a place in Hougang. Again the house didn’t speak to us plus the steepy price.

We decided to take a break after this. Our agent( who was also a good friend of ours) advised ur to wait patiently as the prices of the houses were going down.

In April somehow home situations propelled us to really start looking again.

This time we covered 4 houses in a day.

House No 1. Ok conditon. Some work had to be done before move in. Plus price was not reasonable.

House No 2. Better than the previous house. Rock walls. Not speaking to us.

House No 3. Terrible conditon. Cracks on ceilings. Absolute no no.

House No 4. Holland Ave. As we drove past the house to go to the carpark, we passed by a War Memorial. At that point in time i thought that it was a cemetry. Rather put off by it. When we entered the housewe knew we were Home. Beautiful in our eyes. Price was favourable. Good perks.

We finally settled for it.

i am back… for good now

The past few months have been really busy for me and hubby…it was dotted with sprinkles of happiness, worries, blood, sweat… you name it.

However, i feel that i have finally reached the point in my life where happiness is mine and mine only.

Along the way, i learnt many lessons which i will carry with me throughout this journey called life.

I hope that finally i will have the time and energy to write regularly.
